We took another group trip last weekend, this time to another river town, Colón, appropriately enough in the Entre Ríos province.
Spring time weather is a little unpredictable, alternating between cold and warm, sunny, overcast, and stormy...or any other variation. Luckily, we arrived on Friday to a beautiful, sunny day. We lunched by the river, then spent the afternoon exploring the river banks and napping in the sun.
We'd rented a couple small apartments for the weekend, and our Program Coordinator, Fabian made us a spaghetti dinner. We were all pretty exhausted after the travelling and called it a night after dinner.
Saturday morning was chilly and overcast, but we took a boat ride down the river and made it back just before the skies opened up, pouring down rain that would last the rest of the day. We made omelets for lunch, ordered in ice cream (Argentines love ice cream in any weather), napped, and watched old movies on TV until dinner time, when we couldn't stand being inside any longer.
Then, we headed out for someones brilliant suggestion of trying to vegetarian restaurant!
Even Max is smiling, and he was pouting quite a bit over not having any meat with his dinner. The food was fabulous! Some of us went out after, where we enjoyed the local bar scene, and the local bar scene got to meet a real American.
(We jumped the gun a bit on the picture of Mary Andrews...about five minutes later her table that started with four guys had grown to about 12.)
Sunday, the sun returned and it was warm enough to bare all in the nearby thermal baths--no pictures are included as the girls are still transitioning from winter bodies and cameras were forbidden. ;)
And Sunday night we returned to La Plata, a little sunburnt, a little tired, and a lot relaxed. =)
